FAQ: What about fireworks?

What about fireworks?

We know, you passed a bunch of cute little stands selling fireworks on your way here. Don’t be tempted– there are no fireworks of any kind allowed on Dewees at any time. On big holidays, like July 4, you can see the fireworks (okay, they are low on the horizon, but you can see them) from the Isle of Palms, Mount Pleasant, Downtown Charleston, and a whole bunch of neighborhoods where the people let their kids stop at the cute little stands. You can enjoy these for free from the ferry dock, or any of the island docks, really. Or you can decide to take the 9:00 ferry run to the IOP and watch from the top deck. (We actually did this one year, and it was really fun!)
