FAQ: Can I stay on Dewees Island while participating in a Wedding/sporting event in Mount Pleasant or Charleston

It’s not easy. Dewees is really a destination vacation. In the summer, traffic on the Isle of Palms can get crazy. The ferry leaves Dewees once per hour starting at 7:30 am, and you arrive on the IOP about 8 minutes before the hour. So if you had to be downtown at 10:00, you need to take the 8:30 ferry off the island. Most people who vacation on Dewees go into town at least once while they are here, and there are great things to explore all over the greater Charleston area. But if you are on a schedule, or participating in a baseball tournament in Summerville or Mount Pleasant, you would do better to stay closer to your venue.
