Who We Are

Reggie Fairchild, a Realtor and Co-Founder of Simplistate, LLC, manages vacation beach rentals on Dewees Island.  He can also help you buy or sell any home or lot in the Charleston area, including the special homes on Dewees.

Reggie and his wife Judy own a home on Dewees Island, SC and enjoy the community’s many wonders. They are involved with a number of environmental and other programs on the island, including the Turtle Team, annual bird and alligator counts, the Archives Committee and much more. Judy is a past chair of the Environmental Program Board for Dewees and is a Master Naturalist.  Reggie served on the Board of the Dee Dee Paschal Barrier Island Trust and Dewees Island Conservancy. Reggie serves as a volunteer with Dewees Public Safety Department. Together, they write a blog about the island. Emily Watson is our crack assistant, ready to help with any of your vacation needs.

Why rent with us?

We know the island.  We understand what it takes to manage the logistics of being on the island, from golf cart maintenance to wildlife photography to crabbing to enjoying the beach.  We are usually on the island when you arrive, and we will give you a personal guided tour to introduce you to this beautiful place, teaching you about how to live lightly here.  We can connect you with all sorts of resources on the mainland because we are here year-round.  If you are an owner with a home to rent, you’ll rest easy in the knowledge that we are here when you need us, and we will make sure your guests have the information they need to make their visit to the island a great one.
